- The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown
- Skippyjon Jones by Judy Schachner
- Matilda by Roald Dahl
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett
These are just a few book that every child in my classroom enjoyed last year.
Matilda was a hit! As with most Roald Dahl books you have to be careful to edit some words...I think I remember seeing some questionable words in both Matilda and James and the Giant Peach. But it was always easy to bleep out.
My students absolutely loved Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs! Not only is the story hysterical but the illustrations are great too!
Also, if you have not seen Skippyjon Jones yet...you must RUN to the store and grab a copy. Practice your best Taco Bell chihuahua accent and tuck your little one into bed with this one!
Last, but certainly not least, who doesn't love a classic? The Runaway Bunny is as good as it gets.
All of these titles can be found new or used at Amazon. The used copies are usually a REALLY good deal!!!
